Why is my Google Drive showing full storage when I just upgraded?

I upgraded to 100GB of storage on Google Drive after reaching the limit on my free account, but even though it shows 100GB available and I've only used 15GB, I still can't create new Google Docs. I've tried waiting for a few days and checked my trash bins in Google Photos, Google Drive, and Google One, but nothing has changed. I'm really frustrated since I'm now paying for this extra storage but can't use it. What could be the issue?

Before anything, try signing out of Google and signing back in, or using incognito mode in your browser. If the issue persists, contacting Google Support might be your next best step.

Make sure to check if your Gmail and Google Photos are also using up space. Sometimes, they count towards your total storage limit too.

Honestly, good luck getting help from Google Support. I've never gotten a reply. A friend of mine had a similar problem because he had a lot of videos and photos, but he never managed to sort it out. Let us know if you find a solution!

You can typically find detailed breakdowns of what's taking up your storage through Google Drive settings. Cleaning up unnecessary files there might just free up the space.
