I've recently noticed a strange issue with my iCloud account. While trying to set up Apple Pay with my mom, I found out that whenever I change my iCloud profile picture, it automatically changes her picture in the Messages app as well. Thinking this might be related to our family sharing, I left the family group, but the problem persists. It's also concerning that changing her icon in Messages has the same effect. How can I resolve this issue?

It sounds like you might be sharing the same Apple ID instead of just using family sharing. Check if your account is linked somehow with your mom's account. It’s also possible that your mom has your phone number or email as a contact on her device, which could be causing the synchronization. To fix this, make sure each of you has separate accounts!
Another thing you can try is to check your 'My Card' in your contacts. Head over to the contacts section, and see if your personal info is showing your mom's details. If it is, update it to your own information. If you already tried making a new 'My Card' and it's still not working, it might be worth checking for any other linked accounts.
Go to your settings and tap your name at the top. Check if you both have the same name or email listed. If you do, that’s likely the problem. You need to have individual accounts for things like iCloud and iMessage to avoid these mix-ups!
