Why Is My Laptop Display Not Working?

I have an ASUS Zenbook UM3402YAR running on Windows 11, and I recently opened it to find that the display is entirely black, even though the laptop powers on. There haven't been any previous issues or damage to suggest why this is happening. I connected my laptop to an external monitor, and that works fine—it's recognized in Device Manager, but I can't detect my primary monitor. I've tried several troubleshooting steps, including hard resets, refreshing graphics, updating drivers, and even booting into the BIOS. I'm curious if the problem lies within the internal display ribbon or if the display itself has failed. I'd greatly appreciate any guidance on how to identify the issue!

I totally agree with GadgetGuru42. You might want to check if the cable connections are secure. You mentioned that you can access the BIOS, but it's not showing on your primary monitor, which suggests there might be an issue with the display itself or its connections. If you decide to reconnect the cable, just make sure to power off the laptop and remove the battery first for safety. Good luck!

It sounds like a connection issue to me. First, make sure that the connector on the motherboard or the LCD panel isn’t loose. If you can’t see anything on your primary display, even in BIOS, it’s likely a hardware problem like a loose connector or a failed LCD panel.
