Why is my laptop showing full memory despite being cleared out?

I recently bought an HP laptop (model 14-cb171wm) and I've been facing a frustrating issue with memory alerts. Despite my best efforts to free up space by deleting files and programs, including clearing the Recycle Bin and doing a disk cleanup, I still get notifications that my memory is low. It's especially problematic when trying to do simple tasks like video calls or browsing the web. Even more confusing is that the total amount of used memory doesn't seem to add up correctly. I've attempted a hard reset to restore factory settings, but that failed due to insufficient memory. I've also tried using WinDirStat to identify what's taking up space, but I found it difficult to navigate. I'm not very tech-savvy, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried checking your Recycle Bin? Sometimes, files sit there and still take up space until they're fully deleted. It sounds simple, but it's an important step to make sure you’ve cleared everything out.

Using WinDirStat is a great idea! It visually shows which files and folders are taking up the most space. The colored map at the bottom should help you see what’s bloating your storage. Just be careful not to delete anything critical for your OS or programs. A quick search online about the biggest files might help you understand what they are before removing them.
