Why Is My Laptop Storage Not Updating After Deleting Games?

I've run into a weird issue with my laptop storage. Even after deleting some large games, I still don't see an increase in free space. I expected to have at least 200GB free after removing about 130GB worth of games, but I only have 60GB free right now. Plus, my installed apps show 285GB used, but it doesn't seem to add up. What could be going on with my storage?

When you say you deleted them, did you uninstall the games completely or just move them to the trash? Make sure to uninstall from settings and also clear your recycling bin afterwards! For a clearer picture of your storage, check out tools like WinDirStat or WizTree to see exactly what’s taking up space.

I did uninstall them through the settings and cleared the recycling bin, but thanks for the tips!

Sometimes the Windows storage settings can be a bit unreliable. If Explorer shows less available space than expected, it’s worth scanning your drive with tools like WizTree or WinDirStat. Those will give you a clearer view of what’s really going on with your files.

How do I check that in Explorer?
