Why is my laptop’s RAM always maxing out?

I've been using my HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15 for about three years now, and I've noticed that my RAM usage is constantly hovering around 60-80%, even when I'm not running any programs. I have 8 GB of RAM, and just last week, I couldn't even play games like Nubby's Number Factory or The Finals. I already ran a virus scan and didn't find anything suspicious, so I'm at a loss here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, 8 GB of RAM is quite limited for gaming these days. You might want to consider upgrading to 16 GB for a much smoother experience, especially with newer games.

I think I might actually have a virus too, so I'm considering a factory reset. Thanks for your input!

Windows tends to consume more RAM over time with updates. If you feel things are really cluttered, a fresh install of Windows could help get things back to normal. You might not even need to replace your RAM!

Try pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager and see which processes are using up your memory. It could be something in the background that's hogging resources.

Honestly, I find that 3 years is a good time to do a fresh Windows install anyway. I've been doing it every year or so to keep things running smoothly. It might help in your case!
