Why is my laptop’s RAM maxed out with nothing running?

I'm having a problem with my laptop, a Zephyrus G16 with 32GB of RAM. No applications are open, yet my RAM is completely maxed out. I've checked the Task Manager, and nothing seems to be consuming significant memory. I've also run a virus scan with Windows Security which showed no issues. I'm looking for any suggestions on what might be causing this. Thanks in advance for the help!

It sounds like something might be lurking in the background using your RAM without you noticing. Try saving and closing all applications, then open Command Prompt and run `sfc /scannow`. It might find and fix some issues. Let me know what it finds!

I actually restarted my PC before this, and it went back to normal, but I'm not sure if that's a permanent fix. I ran the command and it said it found and repaired corrupt files.

You might want to do an additional malware scan using Malwarebytes just to be safe. Sometimes, Windows Security can miss things that other software can catch.

It could also be that a program is using memory, but you might not be looking in the right spots. If restarting makes it fine temporarily, but the issue returns later, it might be related to something like a faulty print driver that has a memory leak. Keeping an eye on RAM usage can help figure it out.
