Why is my little brother’s phone flooding with ads on Play Store and YouTube?

My little brother has been dealing with a frustrating issue where ads keep popping up on his phone, especially when he uses YouTube Shorts and the Play Store. These aren't ordinary ads; they always require him to hit the skip button. Even when he's not actively using any apps, the ads still show up. We've tried restarting his device multiple times, but that didn't help. At one point, all his apps appeared in black and white with a 'safe mode' label in the corner. He's using a TCL 20 SE, so any suggestions on how to fix this would be really appreciated!

It sounds like there might be a rogue app causing those annoying ads. When you see an ad, try to open the app drawer right away and find out which app it is. Sometimes those sneaky apps will try to hide, so it might take a few attempts to catch it. If you identify the app, just uninstall it! Good luck!

I tried that, but the app just disappears right after I find it. It's like it knows what I'm doing!
