Why is my mobile hotspot giving me better ping than my home internet?

Hey, I'm trying to figure out why my gaming ping is better when I use my mobile hotspot compared to my home internet. When I connect via ethernet or wifi, I get a ping of over 70 ms, but with the hotspot, it averages around 40 ms. I'm using a good quality cable and have tested a few different ones, but nothing seems to help. Can anyone suggest what might be going on? This is for my PC.

It sounds like you're dealing with some tricky network conditions at home. Since you mentioned that your home setup isn't ideal, it might be that your mobile hotspot has a more stable connection to the servers than your home internet does. Factors like network congestion from other devices in the house or your rural location could be affecting your home internet's performance.

Yeah, I totally get that! My home internet is pretty slow too, especially when everyone is online at once. Hotspots are surprisingly fast sometimes!
