I recently purchased a Western Digital 1TB HDD, model WD10EZEX, and had it installed at a store. However, when I powered up my PC and tried to initialize the drive, it only shows 57GB free out of the total 1TB. I'm really confused and need help figuring out what's wrong and how to fix it.

It sounds like your hard drive might be partitioned, and you're only seeing the available space on that specific partition. If you're on Windows, hit Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog, then type 'diskmgmt.msc'. Check if the new hard drive appears and if it has different segments—like one marked as 57GB NTFS and another segment. If you see that, right-click on the 57GB partition and choose to expand it, or you can delete it and create a new partition to utilize the full capacity. If the entire drive shows only 57GB, I’d recommend returning it to the store for a replacement.
It might help to see a screenshot of your disk management to better understand what's happening. If you have access to that, share it!
Honestly, there was no need for the store to install it. You just need to connect the SATA cable, and you’re good to go. Now that someone else messed with it, who knows what they did. If all else fails, just check the settings yourself or get a replacement.

I've already sorted it out, thank you!
