I just bought a new computer from Best Buy, and I'm really frustrated because I can't get internet speeds faster than 94 Mbps when using a wired connection. On Wi-Fi, I'm getting about 400 Mbps, which should be closer to 700. My computer has a Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller for the ethernet. I've tried several solutions:
- Used multiple Cat 6 cables, which work fine on a different computer, achieving speeds up to 650 Mbps.
- Adjusted settings in device manager by disabling Auto Disable Gigabit, Gigabit Lite, and Energy-Efficient Ethernet, and tried both 1.0 Gbps full duplex and Auto Negotiation.
- Uninstalled the Ethernet driver and reinstalled one from the Realtek website.
- Rebooted multiple times.
I'm at a loss for what to do next, and it's disheartening to have spent almost $3k without fully enjoying my setup. What could I be doing wrong or what else should I try to resolve this issue?

You could try a network reset. It might clear out any configuration issues caused by Windows. Just do the following in your command prompt:
1. Run "netsh int ip reset reset.log" and hit enter,
2. Then run "netsh winsock reset" and hit enter,
3. After that, restart your computer. It's helped many people in similar spots.
Could it be a wiring issue? If other devices work fine with the same cables, maybe your connection at the wall or within your setup is the culprit. I had a similar problem after upgrading my speeds.
Sometimes just switching the Cat 6 cable to a different port on the router can help, but double-check to ensure that your router isn’t limiting the speed. I don't think that's your issue, though, since you've tested the same cable elsewhere.
Have you checked if your motherboard supports gigabit ethernet? It sounds like you might as well add a little troubleshooting to see what your router is capable of, too! What model are you connected to?
Yeah, you might be all set on that front since the post mentions that you achieved high speeds on another computer. Check any other connections you have carefully.

Your motherboard definitely supports gigabit ethernet, and the cable works fine with other devices. Are you sure all your hardware connections are solid?
