Why Is My New Gaming PC Crashing When I Raise the Settings?

I recently built a new gaming PC with some pretty solid specs: a 7800 XT graphics card, a Ryzen 7 7700X processor, a Gigabyte motherboard, and a Power Spec 80 Bronze PSU, all cooled by Corsair RGB fans. I ran stress tests like Cinebench and Furmark, and they seemed fine, but my PC crashes every time I try to bump the settings above low. When I'm on low settings, the crashes are less frequent but still present. I found a YouTube video showing the issue if that helps. I'm still a newbie with PCs, so any advice would be great!

It sounds like your Gigabyte motherboard might be having some stability issues, which is not uncommon. Many users have reported random crashes while gaming even if stress tests go smoothly. First, I recommend checking for a BIOS update since that could resolve the problem. You might also want to try a different RAM kit or even run with just one stick of RAM; it could reduce crashes, but keep in mind you'll lose some performance. If those don't help, you may want to consider returning the motherboard altogether. You could also reduce the CPU speed a bit with a -150 MHz offset in the Precision Boost Overdrive settings, though that's more of a temporary fix to lessen crashes.

Is there a way to test the motherboard specifically to rule out that issue? My brother has the same one, but he’s using a 7800X3D and he’s never had crashes.
