Why Is My New GPU Showing a Red VGA Light and No Display?

I recently built my PC from scratch and tested it outside the case, but I'm facing some issues. When I powered it on, the red VGA light on the motherboard was solid, and there was no display on my monitor. I swapped my new AMD Radeon RX 9070xt graphics card with an older MSI GeForce RTX 2060, and that one displayed fine. The motherboard I'm using is a Gigabyte B850 Gaming X wifi6e, and my power supply is a Coolermaster MWE Gold 850 v2. Strangely, even when using the older GPU, the red light remains on. Any advice would be really appreciated!

It sounds like there might be an issue with the power or cable configuration for your new graphics card. Check to see if you've configured the PCIe correctly. Are you using any risers? You might want to test with a different PCIe slot or lower the PCIe version or lane count.

Thanks for the insight! I spent hours searching online before I realized I might have set up my power supply incorrectly. The PSU only had two 8-pin cables that split, so I plugged one in alone and the others into the second and third ports. Do you think that’s causing the issue?
