Why Is My New PC Getting Such Low FPS in Games?

Hey folks! I'm pretty new to PC building and I've just put together a system with a Ryzen 5 PRO 4655G, 16GB of DDR4 3200MHz RAM, and a 500GB SSD. I recently ran a benchmark on Unigine Heaven and it averaged only 25 FPS, which feels really low. It handles everyday tasks like browsing and SolidWorks just fine, but I'm concerned about gaming performance. I've already updated Windows, checked all my drivers, and updated the BIOS. What can I do to boost my gaming FPS? Should I upgrade any components or tweak some settings?

Honestly, if you thought the iGPU could handle modern gaming, that's a common mistake for newcomers. You’ll need a dedicated graphics card for any serious gaming. Also, you might want to consider upgrading your CPU in the future for better performance.

First off, what's your GPU? If you’re relying only on the integrated graphics of the Ryzen 5 4655G, that’s likely the main issue. For decent gaming performance, you really need a dedicated graphics card. Without one, you're looking at very low FPS in modern games.

It sounds like you're using integrated graphics, which is a big reason for your low FPS. Consider picking up a discrete GPU like the RX 580 (8GB) for about $50 or a 5700XT which can be $100-$150. That’ll give your gaming performance a significant boost!
