I recently bought an SD card from Temu, and I've noticed a bizarre issue. Every time I try to transfer files from my older SD card (also from Temu, which has been great since 2023), the new card seems to inflate the file sizes. For instance, a video that takes up only 1GB on my old card shows up as a whopping 39GB on the new one! Does anyone know what could be going on with this?

The problem is outlined right in your first sentence. If it was from Temu, chances are it’s not the quality you’d hope for. Just keep an eye on your data and back up anything important elsewhere.
Honestly, you shouldn't expect top-notch quality from Temu. While it's disappointing, sometimes these cards don't live up to their promises. I've had mixed experiences myself—always do some research before buying!
Yeah, it's likely fake. If it's messing with your file sizes like that, your files may become corrupt or lost. I'd be cautious about using it for important data.
It sounds like your new SD card might have some modified firmware that makes it report inflated sizes. It’s possible the file size is actually just showing larger than it is, so it could still be 1GB but looks huge to make the card seem more appealing. I'd check how it performs.
Is this something I should be worried about? Should I keep using the SD card?
From what I've seen, it’s a tactic they use. Some SD cards report false file sizes to make it seem like there’s more capacity than there actually is. So, you might end up with a card that can’t reliably store your data. If the price seems unrealistically low, that's usually a red flag.
I didn’t expect much! My previous card works flawlessly, that's why I’m confused.
