Why is my new SSD downloading so slowly?

I recently added a second SSD to my setup, specifically a Kingston 2 TB M.2 NVME 4.0 model. While downloading games on Steam, the download speed starts at around 200 Mbps, and the disk usage matches that, but then both metrics plummet to 0 Mbps for network and drop to Kbs for disk usage. My motherboard is an MSI B550M Pro VHD Wifi, and my original SSD continues to perform well at 200 Mbps for both network and disk usage. I've heard mixed things about the second slot being slower but this seems unusual for an SSD. I've checked the SSD in Task Manager, and it hits 100% active time with a write speed around 2 MB/s, while the original SSD maintains a write speed of about 25 MB/s. Any insights or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated!

Could you specify the exact model of the drive? Kingston has multiple 2 TB NVMe options. Also, try running CrystalDiskMark on that drive and share the results here. It’s a great way to get a benchmark of how it's performing. Don't forget to run Kingston SSD Manager too—it can help identify potential issues with the drive.

Make sure to run CrystalDiskInfo as well, it can provide important insights into the health and performance of your SSD. Sometimes there are issues that aren't easy to spot without that additional info! (Image linked)

Right! CrystalDiskInfo is essential for monitoring SSD health. Definitely run it before you assume there’s a hardware issue!
