I've been having some serious issues with my PC over the past two months. Whenever I download something or update, my computer completely freezes for about 30 seconds. Even simple tasks like opening a 20MB photo or loading terrain and icons in World of Warcraft take ages. I recently upgraded my RAM from 2x8GB to 2x16GB Kingston Fury, but that didn't resolve the issue. Here are my specs: CPU: i5-12400F, GPU: RTX 3060, SSD: 512GB ADATA LEGEND 700, Motherboard: ASUS PRIME H610M-K D4. I'm wondering if my SSD might be failing or if there's another reason for this. While I'm just watching a YouTube video and WoW is running in the background, the SSD temperature ranges from 62-66°C; while idle with just Reddit open, it drops to around 55-58°C. I'm really frustrated trying to figure this out and am considering buying a new SSD, but I'm unsure if I'll need a new motherboard too. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If your SSD is overheating, it might not have sufficient cooling. Does it have a heatsink? If not, that's likely a big part of the problem. Overheating can cause significant slowdowns and freezes.
Have you checked your CPU, GPU, and RAM usage when these freezes happen? That can give you some insight into whether a specific component is being maxed out during those times.
Good point! Monitoring those stats can really help narrow down the culprit. Make sure to check if anything spikes when you start downloading.

Interestingly, mine has a heatsink and it sits just below the CPU cooler, but it still runs hot. Might be worth looking into better cooling maybe?
