Why is my PC not booting after installing a TPM 2.0 chip?

I recently added a TPM 2.0 chip to my computer because I heard it's necessary to upgrade to Windows 11. However, after installing the chip, my PC won't boot at all; the fans turn on briefly before shutting down completely. It seems like there might be an issue with the installation, but I'm not sure if it's misaligned pins or something else. My PC was working fine beforehand without the chip, but I need it to run Riot Vanguard. Can anyone help me understand why the addition of this chip is causing my system to fail? Do you think a technician would be a better option?

It sounds like you may need to reset your BIOS settings. You can do this by either using the jumper pins on your motherboard, pressing a button on the back, or by removing the CMOS battery for a bit. What kind of CPU are you using?

Oh, I found an option in BIOS called "Intel Firmware" that seemed to have solved my issue! It wasn't under the usual security settings where I expected to see it. Thanks for the tips, everyone!

Just a heads-up, your Intel i5-10400F actually supports TPM 2.0 natively, so you might not need a separate chip at all. You should check your BIOS to see if you can enable it there instead! Also, make sure your BIOS is up to date.
