Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on optimizing my PC since it gets pretty noisy when I'm gaming, which ruins the experience for me. My setup is quite solid, with an AMD Ryzen 7 9700X, an MSI GeForce RTX 5070 VENTUS 2X OC, and a Noctua NH-U12A cooler. I'm running games like Baldur's Gate 3 on ultra settings at 1080p with stable 144 fps, and my temps seem fine (CPU around 70°C with some spikes to 80°C, GPU averages at 70°C with peaks of 78°C). However, the noise level really bothers me. My PC is new, only about three months old, and it's equipped with 32 GB DDR5 RAM and an ASUS TUF GAMING B850-E WIFI Motherboard. Any tips on how to quiet it down? Thanks!

Check your fan settings to see if they ramp up at certain temperatures. If your fans kick in aggressively at 70°C, that might be when the noise starts to get loud. You could tweak those settings to find a better balance.
Have you figured out which component is the loudest? It helps to open your case and listen closely while gaming. From what you said, it sounds like your GPU is where most of the noise is coming from during games.
Yeah, definitely during Baldur's Gate 3, it’s mostly the GPU that bothers me. I’d say listen closely to pinpoint the source!
If the noise is coming from system fans, adjusting the fan curves in the BIOS can help. Make sure your system fan header is connected. If it’s the GPU that’s loud, MSI Afterburner can help manage its fan speed too. Just experiment a bit until you find a good setting.
I think my GPU is the main source of noise too. I'm a bit hesitant to use MSI Afterburner though. Is it safe to mess with the fan curves?

Yeah, I noticed my fans get a bit louder around that temp too. You might want to play around with your fan curves to see if you can stabilize the noise.
