Why Is My PC Struggling with New Games?

I've got a gaming setup, but I'm having a tough time with performance on newer games. Here are my specs: I have a Ryzen 6-core 5600x CPU, an RTX 3070 GPU, and 16 GB of RAM on an X570-A Pro motherboard. I've noticed my RAM sticks aren't in the best slots for dual channel, which might be causing some issues. I'm really struggling to run games like Oblivion and the Silent Hill remake, and I'm worried that the next DOOM game won't run well either. Any advice on what's causing the poor performance or if I should upgrade something?

First off, make sure your RAM is in the right slots for dual channel, as that can significantly affect performance. Since you have a decent setup with the Ryzen 5600x and RTX 3070, if you're still having issues, it might be worth checking your drivers and ensuring your PSU is adequate for your GPU load. Sometimes, a 750W PSU isn't enough depending on what else you have running. Also, monitor your temps—overheating can throttle your performance in gaming.

Consider looking into your graphics drivers; making sure they're updated can clear up lots of performance hiccups. Also, if you're gaming at high settings, some titles may push your setup to its limits—even an RTX 3070 has its challenges depending on resolution and graphics settings. If you're concerned about RAM, you might find that 16 GB is enough for most games, but having 32 GB can future-proof you a bit.

Your specs look solid for gaming, but if you're not getting good performance, make sure to check your graphics settings in the game. Lowering the resolution or graphical detail can really help. And don't forget to check for background applications that could be using up resources. They can impact gaming performance as well. Also, since you're running new titles, sometimes just more RAM can help, but your current setup should still be decent for most games.
