Why is my PC stuck on the boot screen and affecting another PC?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a bind and could really use your help. I had some issues with my PC due to a short circuit on the motherboard, so I replaced it with an ASUS A520M-PLUS II. Now, my PC powers on, but it gets stuck on the American Megatrends screen and won't boot into Windows. I can access the BIOS without any problems, though.

What's really strange is that after I used my boyfriend's monitor and peripherals to test my PC, his computer started having the same issue—it's also not booting into Windows now, even though it was working fine before. We didn't swap any components, but all the cables we used were his, and they were functioning properly on his PC prior to the tests. It's been a confusing situation, and I'm hoping someone can help!

First, check how Windows was originally installed on both PCs—was it using CSM with MBR or UEFI with GPT? You want to make sure the BIOS settings match the type of installation you have. It’s odd that both systems are experiencing this after switching peripherals, but it might be related to the BIOS settings not matching their Windows installation. If the BIOS was reset to default settings due to a faulty CMOS battery, that might cause boot issues too.

His PC is running UEFI, and we're really stressed because it’s only 3 years old. Now it's showing the same exact problem as mine—what are the odds?
