Why is my PC stuttering in some games after 3 years?

I've built my PC about three years ago, and I'm noticing it stutters while playing certain games. It's strange because I can play several other games without any issues, like DayZ, Black Ops 3, Ready or Not, and Team Fortress 2, but when I jump into my fighting games like Street Fighter or Tekken, I get random stutters. Ironically, I don't have any stutters in Guilty Gear. It's easier to spot the frame drops in fighting games, so I'm really curious if anyone knows what's going on here.

Have you made sure everything is updated? It's a good first step when facing issues like this. Also, what are your PC specs? If your hardware is decent but still facing stuttering, it might be a Windows problem, where your installation could be bloated. A fresh reinstall could do wonders. I usually back up my important files and do this every year or two, and it really helps.

By the way, what are your specs? It might give us a clue on the stuttering.
