Why Is My PC’s WiFi So Slow Compared to Other Devices?

I've got BT full fibre with 500mbps, but my PC struggles with speeds around 10 down and 5 up. Meanwhile, my phone and laptops get about 370 down and 75 up when I'm downstairs. Even in the same spot as my PC, those devices can pull at least 45 down and 38 up. I have a 50m Ethernet cable that helps a lot when I need it, but I don't want to run that around the house all the time. My PC is using a TP-Link AC1200 Wireless PCI Express Adapter, and I've also tried the USB version. I've messed with the settings in the configuration menu and ran SFC and DISM commands, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Make sure your antennas are aligned correctly. Try repositioning them for better reception. Have you looked into how they should be oriented?

I assume they're aligned right, but I could use some tips on the best position.

Have you checked if your antennas are plugged in properly? Sometimes that can be the issue out of the gate. Just a thought!

Yes, they are plugged in!

If you're looking for a fix, try getting an antenna extension cable to move your WiFi card closer to the router. It could really help with those speeds!

Why move the PCIe card when I could just get antenna extension cables instead? Seems easier!
