I've got an i7 12700k processor and 64 GB of DDR4 RAM (G.Skill TridentZ), yet my PC lags while performing simple tasks that my MacBook Pro handles easily. I've been upgrading my computer since I built it in 2020. What can I do to get my PC to feel faster again?

Your setup sounds really solid! A 12700k with 64GB RAM shouldn’t feel sluggish at all. Have you run any health checks on your drives with CrystalDisk? Also, using MemTest from USB can help ensure your RAM isn't faulty. Keep an eye on your temperatures with HWinfo64 to see if that's an issue; high temps can cause throttling. If after all that it still feels slow, you might consider wiping and reinstalling Windows to clear any lingering problems.
Just to clarify, you’re using DDR4, right? If you haven’t already, you might want to check your system updates besides the GPU drivers. Sometimes, other components can cause slow performance; it's not all about the graphics!
Yep, it’s DDR4. I keep my system updates current, but I’m not sure if I’ve missed anything.

I have been experiencing issues with Ableton and file explorer lagging a lot. It’s frustrating since I've stopped gaming and mostly focus on production now.
