Why is my RAM recognizing as 4800MHz instead of 6000MHz?

I'm having an issue where my PC is showing the DRAM speed as 4800MHz when I start Windows, even though I expected it to be 6000MHz since EXPO is enabled. Can anyone offer advice on what might be happening or how to fix this?

Make sure XMP is enabled in your BIOS settings. This should help your RAM run at the intended speed.

Have you tried updating your BIOS? Sometimes a BIOS update can resolve issues like this. It's worth checking out!

I updated the BIOS before I set EXPO, so that shouldn't be the problem.

You should download and run CPU-Z. In the Memory tab, it will show you the DRAM frequency. Remember, DDR stands for double data rate, so 3000MHz x 2 gives you 6000MHz. If you're not seeing that, let us know what CPU, RAM, and motherboard you have!

I have CPU-Z from my ASUS motherboard. It shows DRAM Frequency as 3000 MHz, and it fluctuates a bit, but I'm not sure if that's normal. My setup is ASUS TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi, AMD Ryzen 9800x3d, XFX Mercury Radeon RX 9070 XT, and G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32 GB (2x16) DDR5-6000 CL30.
