Why is my RAM showing 4800MHz instead of 6000MHz on Windows?

I'm having an issue with my RAM speed. I see that my PC is reporting a memory speed of 4800MHz when it should be running at 6000MHz. I have EXPO enabled, but it still doesn't seem to work as expected. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Make sure XMP is enabled in your BIOS settings. This profile helps configure your RAM to run at its rated speeds. Sometimes it’s not set up properly after an update.

Have you tried updating your BIOS? Sometimes a simple update can fix RAM compatibility issues and help you achieve the correct speed. Give that a shot if you haven’t already!

Yeah, I updated my BIOS before enabling EXPO, but I’m still stuck at 4800MHz.

Try using CPU-Z to check your memory settings. Go to the Memory tab and see what DRAM frequency it shows. Remember, DDR means double data rate, so if you see 3000MHz there, it should actually register as 6000MHz when doubled. If it's not reaching that, let us know your CPU, RAM, and motherboard specs!

CPU-Z shows around 3000MHz, fluctuating a bit. My setup is an Asus Tuf Gaming B850-Plus Wifi with an AMD Ryzen 9800x3d and G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32 GB (2x16) DDR5-6000 CL30. Does that help?
