Why is my RTX 5080 underperforming lately?

I bought an RTX 5080 (ROG Astral model) right when it came out and was thrilled with my initial performance—I was hitting scores of over 10,000 on the Steel Nomad test in 3DMark. But recently, I've noticed a significant drop in FPS. Just yesterday, my score plummeted to 7,200, which is way below where I was before. I'm wondering what steps I can take to diagnose the issue with my GPU.

Here's my setup:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9800x3D
- RAM: 128GB DDR5 (not sure on the speed)
- Monitor: 49' G9 OLED
- Storage: 2TB Samsung 990 Pro, 1TB 980

I appreciate any help, as I'd love to restore the card's performance or explore warranty options with ASUS if needed.

EDIT 1: Just shared some results from the latest Steel Nomad test and idle state:
- Idle: 2947 MHz GPU, 5200 MHz CPU, 47°C temp, 46% utilization
- Running Steel Nomad: ~2895 MHz GPU, 5223 MHz CPU, 62°C temp, 100% utilization. Scored 6800, which is much lower than the average of 8800.

EDIT 2: I'm trying out the hotfix drivers to see if they help, will keep you posted!

EDIT 3: After installing the hotfix (581.94), I got:
- Steel Nomad: 2902 MHz GPU, 5223 MHz CPU, 61°C temp, 100% utilization, Score: 6564.

EDIT 4: I overclocked using MSI Afterburner (+300 / +1500) and reran:
- Steel Nomad: 3179 MHz GPU, 5223 MHz CPU, 2062 MHz GPU Mem, 100% utilization, 64°C. Scored 7427.

I'm still puzzled since my scores used to be much higher, in the 9000 range.

You should definitely try the latest 581.94 hotfix driver if you haven’t yet. It could resolve issues you’re facing.

Consider using GPU-Z to monitor your GPU's stats. There might be issues with ROPS or power draw that could impact performance. I’m running it on my 5090 to check if everything’s in order.

Have you checked your clock speeds, temperatures, and utilization? Those factors can heavily influence performance. Just make sure everything looks normal before going further.

Did you set a global FPS limit in the Nvidia settings? Sometimes that can throttle performance without you realizing it. Just a quick check might help.
