I'm not very tech-savvy, so please bear with me if I make any mistakes. I recently upgraded my laptop (Asus Aspire 7, A715-71G-52WP) with a Samsung 990 Pro SSD, but I'm really concerned because the read and write speeds are disappointingly slow. I'm seeing speeds ranging from 16 to 100 MB/s, averaging about 22 MB/s for both read and write operations. I'm trying to figure out if the issue is due to my processor being the bottleneck, if the SSD itself might be faulty, or if there's something else I should consider. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You should definitely install Samsung SSD Magician to diagnose the issue. Check if it even recognizes your 990 Pro, because there have been cases where people ended up with fake SSDs that look similar but perform poorly. If it recognizes the SSD, check the 'Transfer Mode' in the program; it should list it as PCIe 3.0 x4 for proper performance. That might give you clues about what's going on!
I have Samsung Magician, and it recognizes the SSD. As for the 'Transfer Mode', it shows PCIe Gen. 3 x 4.
