My sister's computer has been struggling with a weak WiFi connection for about 3-4 days now. The connection is often so weak that she gets disconnected from games and websites won't load properly. Interestingly, when she connected to a mobile hotspot, it was much faster than our home internet. It's worth noting that no one else in the house is experiencing any issues with the internet, and her other devices nearby are working fine. I'm not very knowledgeable about network issues, and I tried the suggestion I found online to reset the Winsock by entering 'netsh winsock reset' in the command prompt, but that didn't help. I'm really looking for guidance here.

Have you thought about connecting her computer directly to the router using an Ethernet cable? If that's not an option because the router is downstairs, there might be other solutions.
It could be that her network card is outdated. Older cards often only connect at 2.4GHz, which can get crowded and lead to interference. If her computer has an app to manage the Wi-Fi card, you might be able to set it to connect using 5GHz instead, which usually provides a faster connection. If there's no app available, there might be a more complicated way to adjust it, but it sounds like you're not too tech-savvy, so we can skip that for now.
Her computer is kind of old. Do you have any tips on how to find that app? I’m not sure where to look or what it's called. Thanks!
I don't think she can do that since the router is downstairs and she’s upstairs. I’ll have to ask my dad if there's a way to set it up.
