Why is my SSD not being recognized after repasting?

I recently repasted my CPU and after putting my laptop back together, I'm having trouble with one of my SSDs. The system recognizes it as 'Disk 0' in CrystalDiskInfo, but when I try to initialize it using Windows Disk Manager, I get an error, and sometimes the Disk Manager freezes. To make things worse, my system has been acting weird since I reassembled it—like, Windows Explorer just crashes out of nowhere. The data on the SSD isn't critical, but honestly, I just want to get it working again since I've only had it for a couple of months!

If the SSD is recognized but still acting up, it might help to test it on another system if possible. This can rule out whether it’s a hardware problem with the SSD itself or something specific to your laptop. Also, look into updating your chipset drivers—sometimes that resolves weird disk recognition issues.

It sounds like there might be a connection issue with your SATA SSD, especially since you just repasted your CPU. Double-check the SSD's connection to ensure it's securely attached. Also, since your system recognizes it but won't initialize, try using a different SATA port if you can. Sometimes, certain ports can fail or have issues after hardware changes.
