I have an ADATA 1TB SSD, and it's showing some strange behavior. My free space drops from 725GB to 715GB over time, even though I haven't downloaded anything. After a reboot, it bounces back to 725GB. I've noticed that the SSD has written over 6TB in just 70 days, which seems impossible since I'm not downloading that much data. I have another SSD for my games, so I'm really confused about what's going on with this one.

My guess is that this might be the paging file's doing. It's like an overflow area for RAM and can also cause excessive writes.
Have you checked if you have Nvidia instant replay enabled? It's known to write a lot of data. If not, maybe something similar is active on your system.
It could also be the Steelseries software; they have a feature like that you might need to disable.
I have AMD, so it can't be Nvidia for me.
It could be pagefile activity, cached files, or any updates running in the background. It's pretty standard, so no need to stress too much.
But it seems excessive! If this keeps happening, I could end up losing my SSD in a couple of years.
It might be related to Windows caching. Sometimes memory spills over to disk and that can lead to extra write cycles.
I’m actually using a lightweight version of Windows called X-LITE.
Windows can generate cache files and those updates can cause extra writes. However, if you're using X-LITE and all updates are paused, it might be worth checking further.
I’m sure all updates are paused, so that’s not the problem.
How can I disable that?
