I'm experiencing an issue where my SSD suddenly spikes to 100% usage, causing my PC to freeze for varying amounts of time. This mostly happens when I'm gaming, but I've also noticed it while just watching Netflix. I took a look at the resource monitor, and all I could track down was that "Windows Kernel Streaming" seems to be jumping in usage. I'm using a Team MP44L 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD. Does anyone have any insight on what might be causing this and how I can resolve it?

When you see 100% disk usage in Task Manager, it's important to check what’s causing it. Your resource monitor should help pinpoint the source of the activity. Have you checked if any background processes are hogging resources? That's a good first step to diagnose the issue!
The Team MP44L is a decent budget SSD, but it can struggle compared to higher-end SSDs, especially under certain conditions. If your drive is over 85% full, or you're multitasking heavily, that can slow it down significantly. It’s also worth checking if you have a proper PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. If none of that seems stuffed, there’s a chance your SSD has some underlying issues causing these performance dips.
It's a 2TB SSD with 1.14TB free, so I don’t think that’s the problem. Since this is a prebuilt PC and this issue has been ongoing, could it likely be just a faulty SSD? Should I reach out to the company?
I'm not really sure what I'm looking for in the resource monitor, but I think it's just the system showing "Windows Kernel Streaming" as the main culprit.
