Why is my SSD’s Active Time stuck at 100%?

I started my PC today and noticed that both Discord and my browser were freezing a lot. When I checked Task Manager, I saw that my SSD's Active Time was consistently at 100%. I tried restarting my PC, but that just made it worse—I struggled to open anything, and even basic searches wouldn't work. I'm looking for solutions to this issue. Any ideas?

Make sure to check Task Manager to see if any processes are maxing out your disk usage. Sometimes a program can cause your SSD to act up without you realizing it.

What's the model of your SSD? Knowing the brand and age can help with diagnosing the issue. Sometimes, older SSDs can start to fail, leading to these types of problems.

It's possible your SSD is on its last legs. I had a similar experience where my SSD performance dropped drastically after a short time. I ended up replacing mine after a clean install didn't help. If it's failing, it’s best to get a new one.

I had a similar situation with my Asus laptop. After 18 months, my SSD's performance tanked. Once I swapped it out, everything returned to normal. Definitely consider that as an option.
