I'm noticing a strange discrepancy in download speeds on two computers connected to the same network. My laptop is only achieving about 30-35 Mb/s on Steam, while an older desktop is getting 105-115 Mb/s. I've tested both devices under the same conditions and they're about the same distance from the router. My internet speed test shows I have a potential of 122 Mb/s. Is there a setting I might have missed that could explain why my laptop's speeds are so much lower?

Are you sure both computers are showing speeds in Mb/s and not Mbps? There’s a big difference there. Double-check their specifications too. It might reveal what's causing the slowdown.
Have you tried using a wired connection instead of wireless? That can really help with speed. Also, check what Wi-Fi version your router supports and see what version each of your computers has. Sometimes older devices can struggle with newer standards. If your desktop has an antenna, that might help its performance too.
Have you tested the download speed outside of Steam? Try downloading something in Chrome and see what speed you’re getting there. It might give you more insight.
