I've been dealing with some frustrating WiFi issues lately and could use some help. A few days ago, our old modem completely died without any lights showing up, so we went to Best Buy and got a new one, which worked fine at first. But now, it's acting up again. The modem appears to be on, but tries to connect to the internet intermittently—sometimes it even connects briefly before dropping out again. My devices (phone, PS4, laptop) show they're connected to the WiFi, but there's no internet access. I've tried resetting the modem and unplugging it, but nothing seems to fix it. Any advice on what I could try? The old modem was an Anris Surfboard SB6190, and we replaced it with a newer Anris model, but I'm not sure about its specs.

This sounds a bit like an electrical issue. If there are power surges or outages in your area, they could be affecting your modem. You might want to consider having an electrician check your wiring or invest in a surge protector for your devices.
Have you tried plugging the modem into a different wall socket? Sometimes the power supply can act up. Also, make sure your new modem got properly set up with your ISP; sometimes, you need to register its MAC address with them manually. A quick call to them could sort this out if that's the case.
If you bought a new router, you might need to contact your internet provider to let them know. They can guide you through the steps to get your new modem connected to the internet properly.
First things first, can you check if your internet service provider is experiencing any outages? Sometimes the issue is not with your modem but rather with the internet itself. It’s worth confirming that before diving deeper.
I checked, and unfortunately, everything seems to be fine on their end.

I hadn't thought of that. It was working before, so I assumed everything was set up right, but I should definitely look into it.
