Why is my WiFi faster than my Ethernet connection?

I installed a 5G router with a SIM card, and everything seems to work great. However, I've noticed something odd: my Ethernet connection is giving me about 300 Mbps download speed, while my WiFi connection is hitting around 450 Mbps. Shouldn't Ethernet typically be faster and more reliable?

It sounds like you might be dealing with a couple of issues here. Have you tried using a different device? Sometimes, the port you're plugged into can limit your speed, or it might just be a faulty device. Swapping out the cable or trying another device could help identify the problem.

Ethernet is usually faster and more stable, but a damaged or low-quality cable can cause weird speed discrepancies. I recommend testing with a different Ethernet cable and also checking what link speed your computer has negotiated with the router.

Given that you're using a docking station with a Thunderbolt 3 cable, it might be worth rebooting the device that the network cable is plugged into. That could help reset any temporary issues affecting performance.
