I recently switched from Kubuntu to a dual boot setup with Windows 11 and Tumbleweed, but I'm having a tough time with Windows. Despite installing it on a brand new SSD, it's been running sluggishly right from the start. I didn't face these issues on Linux, but my WiFi is acting up, and everything seems to take forever to load, which is really frustrating. I mainly want to use Windows for gaming since it's often smoother than on Linux. A friend suggested I downgrade to Windows 10, even though its support has ended, which I'm not too worried about. Activating Windows is easy since it appears to be activated from the official Microsoft website. By the way, I'm using an HP laptop with a 256 GB SSD, an Intel Core i3 processor, and Intel UHD Graphics.

If you're considering Windows 10, the LTSC version is supported until 2031 with security updates. However, just because it’s supported doesn’t guarantee better performance, but many find it more stable for their needs.
Just out of curiosity, what's your exact CPU model? Sometimes specific CPUs can have issues with certain Windows versions.
You might want to consider that if your Windows 11 installation is fresh, it could be running version 24H2, which has known issues. You can find more details on Microsoft’s site about the bugs related to that version. If Windows 10 seems better to you for gaming, just remember that once it hits its end of support, it's a good idea to keep it offline to avoid security risks. But it can still run your offline games without issues.
Wow, that sounds like a major hassle! I'll have to check if I'm on version 24H2 too. This experience was supposed to be smoother!
Is it actually proven to run better than Windows 11, though?
