I've recently reinstalled Teams and also cleared out all related folders, but I'm still having trouble getting the Teams add-in to show up in Outlook. Can anyone share additional troubleshooting steps? I also heard a rumor that Microsoft is phasing out support for the Teams add-in— is there any truth to that?

Make sure you check the options menu under disabled items to see if the Teams add-in is disabled. You might be able to enable it again from there.
I think the easiest fix is to just switch to the new Outlook, as they seem to be pushing everyone in that direction.
I reached out to Microsoft about this and they informed me that the Teams add-ins for the classic Outlook are indeed being phased out. They're recommending that users switch to the new Outlook for Teams functionality.
Honestly, it seems like they just want to move everyone over to Outlook beta and neglect the classic versions. It's frustrating for sure!
Yeah, I’ve noticed they’re neglecting the classic versions of Teams and Outlook too. I ran into the same issue and couldn’t find a direct download for the add-in online, but I managed to extract the .msi from my appdata folder since I still had it and installed it on another machine that way.

That's a good one, 'because they worked too well!' Thanks for that!
