Why is the Sober Roblox Client So Slow on Linux?

I'm using the Sober Roblox client on Linux Mint, and it's incredibly sluggish compared to what I'm used to on Windows. My hardware isn't the best—I've got an Intel Core i5-4570 CPU and a GeForce GT 755m GPU—but even then, I normally get 40-60 FPS on Windows. With Sober, I'm barely scraping 5-15 FPS. I tried enabling OpenGL, but that just made a lot of games buggy and didn't improve performance at all. Shouldn't it be faster on Linux?

I was confused too when I first heard about Sober; it’s indeed a Roblox client for Linux! The performance can vary a lot between Windows and Linux, particularly due to driver support. Have you tried other systems or settings like lowering graphics in-game? That might help hit better frames.

I haven't tried lowering the settings in-game. I'll give that a shot and see if it makes a difference.

Hey! First off, it’s always good to include your hardware specs when asking for help. The i5-4570 and GT 755m aren’t the best but should still give decent performance. It sounds like there might be issues with how the client is optimized for Linux. Have you checked if there are any graphics drivers specifically for Linux Mint that could improve performance?

Thanks for the tip! I'll look into my graphics drivers and see if there are updates available.
