Why is there a big price gap between these two RAM kits?

I'm trying to figure out why there's a significant price difference of 108 EUR between two RAM options I'm considering. Both are 32 GB packages (2x16 GB) with a frequency of 6000 MHz but have different brands and timings. The Kingston Fury Beast has a CAS of 30 and costs 229 EUR, while the G.Skill RipJaws M5 Neo costs 337 EUR with the same CAS. Is there a good reason to choose the more expensive G.Skill over Kingston, apart from aesthetics?

The Kingston RAM has slightly lower CAS latency, making it theoretically faster, but it also requires a higher voltage. If I were in your shoes, I'd save that extra cash and stick with Kingston. You’d likely see minimal performance difference in real-world usage.

Good to know! Looks like I'll go with Kingston then.

Honestly, RAM pricing can be pretty mysterious. Most of the parts are made by big manufacturers like Samsung or Hynix, so the brand names don't mean as much as you'd think. If you're just after performance and not brand loyalty, going with the cheaper Kingston option seems like the smart choice since the difference in performance may not justify the higher cost.

Thanks for clarifying that. It's nice to know the brand doesn't matter as much!

From a performance standpoint, the Kingston RAM’s lower CAS means it should be a bit faster – but honestly, for gaming or regular use, the difference is marginal. Plus, prices have shot up recently due to the hype around AI tech. In most cases, spending an extra 100 EUR for small gains in FPS isn’t worth it.
