Why is YouTube not working on my Panasonic Smart TV?

My roommate has a Panasonic Smart TV model TC-50AS530U, and lately, he's been having trouble with the YouTube app. About 90% of the videos he selects just lead to a black screen, while the remaining 10% play without any issues. We can't seem to figure out why this happens since it doesn't seem to be based on any specific type of video. We've already tried the usual troubleshooting steps that Google suggested: unplugging the TV for a minute, deleting and reinstalling the app, and resetting the app data. My roommate isn't very tech-savvy and keeps asking me to help him out, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If this is happening today, it might be related to ongoing issues with Cloudflare, which many services like Google and YouTube rely on. You can check for outages on sites like DownDetector. However, if this has been an issue for over a week, it might not just be a temporary glitch. It's worth keeping an eye on any updates from Google or potentially seeing if there's a firmware update for the TV that could help.

Yeah, I've heard about Cloudflare issues too, but if it's been more than a week, I’d definitely look into firmware updates. Sometimes manufacturers release patches that fix problems with apps like YouTube.
