Why isn’t my gaming laptop’s CPU fan turning on when it gets hot?

I have an ASUS TUF A15 (model FA506), and I'm having an issue where the CPU fan doesn't activate even when temperatures hit over 80°C. I'm using a tool called g-helper to create a custom fan curve, which should keep the CPU fan running at 2000 RPM, even at 20°C. The laptop is about 11 months old and hasn't experienced any drops or hits. Recently, I noticed a strange clicking noise coming from inside the laptop every 3-4 seconds, which started about 3-4 weeks ago. I haven't opened the laptop to clean it since I'm not experienced and I'm worried about damaging it. What could be going wrong?

First off, try removing the g-helper software and see if the fan kicks in on its own. You can also boot into the BIOS to check if the fan runs there. If it doesn't, it might be time to get it serviced under warranty since it's still relatively new. If it does start working, that software could be the issue. By the way, did the clicking noise start right after you installed g-helper?
