Why isn’t my laptop detecting any WiFi networks or hotspots?

I'm having trouble with my laptop because it's not able to recognize any WiFi networks or mobile hotspots. I've tried all the usual fixes from the help section, like reinstalling drivers and restarting the device, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

Are you able to see any WiFi networks when you scan for them? Or is the WiFi icon completely missing? It's helpful to know which one it is so we can troubleshoot better.

I can't see any networks, and the WiFi icon isn't even showing up with the other icons.

You might need to check if you've installed the latest drivers from your laptop's manufacturer. Sometimes updates can fix these kinds of problems.

I'm not very tech-savvy, and I've never installed new drivers myself. Everything was working fine until I opened it up later today.

If you're running out of ideas, a cheap USB WiFi adapter might be a quick fix to get you back online while you diagnose the laptop issue.

I might just do that! My laptop's been acting up anyway. The IT department had to factory reset it recently, and now I’m dealing with older versions of Office. Thanks for the suggestion!

Are you unable to connect to WiFi at all, or is it just that you can’t access the Internet once you're connected?

I'm not even seeing the WiFi icon, so I can't find any available networks.
