I upgraded my GPU from a 6700 to a 9070 XT, but I haven't noticed any significant performance improvement. I'm currently gaming on a 1080p 165Hz 27" monitor, but I'm planning to upgrade to a 1440p monitor with a refresh rate of 180-240Hz. Before that, I want to ensure there are no bottlenecks in my build. I'm concerned that my CPU might be holding me back, especially since my motherboard might not support newer AMD CPUs. Am I going to need to replace both my motherboard and CPU? Did I not future-proof my system well enough? I'd like to achieve smooth gaming above 100 fps. Currently, I'm getting around 80-90 fps on Arc Raiders, but it's inconsistent, leading to a less enjoyable experience. Has anyone faced a similar issue, or can anyone advise on what I need to upgrade for a better experience?

It sounds like your setup might be CPU-limited. An update to your BIOS and switching to a 14600k would probably pair much better with your 9070 XT. Your other components seem solid, so you shouldn't have to replace anything else.

This seems like a practical fix! Do you think the 14600k will be good for the next couple of years? And will my current CPU fan handle the cooling?
