Why isn’t my NVIDIA graphics card being used?

I'm having some trouble with my NVIDIA graphics card. My computer seems to be defaulting to the Intel graphics driver, which is why my games like Roblox are lagging. When I try to play GTA, it warns me that I don't meet the minimum requirements for the graphics card, even though I have an NVIDIA card installed. I've checked for updates and it says the latest is already installed, but it also indicates that there's no driver installed. The Device Manager is showing an issue with the NVIDIA graphics driver, but I'm not sure what's wrong. To make matters worse, my computer has been restarting randomly, especially when I'm gaming. What should I do to fix this?

First off, check the Device Manager again for the status of your NVIDIA card. If it shows a Code 43 error, that's a red flag. This usually indicates that the driver is having issues. You might want to consider uninstalling the current driver completely and then reinstalling it. You can use the NVIDIA website to download the latest version. Also, keep an eye on any connections to the GPU; sometimes, reseating it can help if it’s a hardware issue.

You should definitely look into the Event Viewer as well. It might give you clues about what's going wrong with the driver. The 'nvlddmkm' message you mentioned means that the driver is failing to load properly. If you have access to any tools for opening your PC, you could check the physical connections for the graphics card. A loose connection can cause issues, too. If none of this works, you might want to consider reaching out to support or checking if your hardware is still under warranty.
