I recently got a new PC, and it has a red SuperSpeed USB port that doesn't seem to work at all. I've tried plugging in my external hard drive and my phone, but the PC doesn't recognize either device—my phone doesn't even start charging. I'm not sure if I need to do something to activate the USB port or if it's malfunctioning. Any ideas?

It's possible that your red USB port is intended for quick charging, like some wireless chargers. Have you tried using a wall charger instead of connecting it to your PC? Just a thought! But since you mentioned the devices aren't responding at all, it might be best to keep troubleshooting.
Have you tried any of the other USB ports? I've noticed that some red or orange ports can be for charging only. The blue ports are typically the ones meant for fast data transfers. Just to double-check, plug into one of those blue ports and see if your devices work there.
