I'm having trouble with my new Samsung 870 EVO 1TB SSD; it doesn't show up in the Samsung Magician software. I've checked my BIOS settings to ensure it isn't set to RAID, and everything is connected correctly. I'm also using the standard Windows drivers, but nothing seems to help. The drive health is good at 100%, and the firmware version appears to be V1.002, which might be a Windows abbreviation, as the Samsung website lists it as SVT02B6Q. Has anyone experienced this issue before?

Have you tried checking what Samsung Magician shows when you open it? It can be wonky sometimes. I’ve dealt with issues where I had to refresh the software to get my drives recognized. Also, are you certain your drive is a legit Samsung and not a knock-off? I’ve heard that can happen too! By the way, I find Samsung Magician kind of frustrating. If you resize the window wrong, it messes up and won’t let you close certain panels unless you force it. Just a heads up!
I think the issue is more about Windows not properly communicating with Magician rather than the software itself being junk.
I faced the same problem after a Windows update messed with my SSD. Apparently, it created some confusion with the Samsung EVO controller. My fix was to restore it using Linux, as Windows couldn't communicate properly to reinstall the firmware. If you can, try using a Linux live USB to see if that helps you out!
That sounds tricky! Do you have any tips on how I can install the EVO firmware? That might be a solution.

I also get that "No drive scanned" message sometimes. Refreshing always seems to solve it. And I agree, it’s likely a real SSD since it's relatively new.
