Why won’t my 9070 XT work with my Intel build?

I'm at my wits' end trying to figure out why my new Asrock Challenger 9070 XT won't post on my Intel systems, even though it works perfectly in my AMD build. I've swapped it out with other GPUs in my Intel rig (which I'm calling SYSTEM A) and they operate just fine. But this 9070 XT just refuses to cooperate when installed in any Intel setup, despite being happy on an AM4 build (SYSTEM B).

In SYSTEM A, I've done everything from updating the BIOS, changing BIOS settings, enabling/disabling XMP and Resizable Bar, to stripping the setup down to just the essential components. I've adjusted PCIe versions and tried different RAM configurations. Still, the VGA light stays on solid, and I can't get the system to post.

Here are the specs for my systems:
- SYSTEM A: Intel i5 12600K, Asus Z690 TUF Gaming Wifi Plus D4, 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200MHz, Corsair RM750x.
- SYSTEM B: AMD R5 5500, Gigabyte B550 Gaming X, 16GB Silicon Power DDR4 3200MHz, Corsair CM650.
- SYSTEM C: Intel i9 10850k, Gigabyte Z590, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA GT1000.

I really need some fresh ideas on what might be happening. I'm open to any suggestions, even the craziest ones!

Could this be a compatibility issue? Sometimes new cards struggle with certain motherboards. Have you noticed if the 9070 XT behaves oddly with just two DIMMs installed? That might be worth trying out.

Honestly, it feels like the 9070 XT just has a grudge against Intel. You might want to try clearing the CMOS on those Intel boards. If things still don’t work, just embrace the fact that your AMD setup is working beautifully and move on!

Did that already, and it still wouldn't post. I took the battery out and waited for a few minutes on SYSTEM A, but no luck.

That's a real head-scratcher! Since you've done a great job isolating the issues, here are some unconventional ideas:
- Try installing the 9070 XT in the second PCIe x16 slot if you haven't already. If it's too cramped, maybe test it out on an open bench setup.
- You could also connect the 9070 XT as a secondary GPU and use a different card as your primary. This could help you see if the 9070 gets detected in your OS. Just so you know, using an AMD card as the primary can help avoid any driver conflicts.
- Don’t forget about the iGPU settings; make sure to check if it's enabled or disabled in the BIOS for both Intel systems. Have you tried connecting your monitor directly to the onboard graphics?

Yeah, it is a Z690 motherboard. I didn't think of trying the lower PCIe slot, mainly because the top slot works with other cards fine. I don’t even want to mess with my cable management! As for the iGPU, I think it was enabled in both systems. Unfortunately, my 9070 stays undetected when I try forcing the PCIe slot as primary.
