Why won’t my external SSD show up without unplugging and plugging it back in?

I've recently bought a 4TB external SSD to use with my laptop that has 16GB of RAM, an AMD Ryzen 7 6800H processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 Mobile graphics, and runs on Windows 11. The issue is that the SSD doesn't appear on my system unless I unplug it and then plug it back in after restarting my laptop. I've tried a full format, switched cables, and used the same USB port with another regular SSD without any issues. My UEFI/BIOS only has basic testing options, and they confirm that everything passed, but the problem persists. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I'm really stuck and appreciate any help!

It sounds like you're having a frustrating time with your new SSD! First, can you check the exact model of the external drive? Knowing if it gets power from the USB or needs a separate power source can really help. Also, it's usually not a good idea to keep these drive enclosures constantly powered on. If you can provide more details about the device, that might lead us to a solution!
