I recently picked up a Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX Ice motherboard as part of a bundle with an AMD 7700X and 32GB of G Skill DDR5 RAM. I'm using a Seasonic Focus 1000W PSU, and I'm trying to test the basic setup before building the rest of the system, but I'm running into issues. After connecting the motherboard and CPU power and turning on the PSU, I only saw a brief flash of LED light and then nothing. I double-checked all connections, tried booting with just one RAM stick, and still no success—no status lights at all. I thought perhaps a BIOS update might help, so I attempted to use the Q Flash Plus method. The light on the motherboard and the USB drive both flashed for about 40 seconds but then stopped without completing the update. I've reset the CMOS too. I'm considering returning the motherboard to MicroCenter but think I might just be overlooking something simple. Any advice would be appreciated!

It sounds like you might be missing a step with the power connections. Make sure to short the power button pins on the motherboard directly; it's different from hitting the reset button on the case.
When it comes to troubleshooting, double-check that all power connectors are seated properly, especially the CPU power cable. If you've confirmed that everything is in place, it could be worth testing with a different PSU to rule that out.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll check the power cables again. A different PSU test is a good idea too, just in case.

Yeah, I did short the pins directly as well, but maybe I wasn't doing it correctly. It's strange that there are no status lights on, though. The CPU light did turn on when I tried the BIOS flash without any components, so I think the CPU is fine.
